Obituary - Hattie M. Lee (Delta Democrat-Times - December 4, 2004), Preceded in death. GREENVILLE - Funeral services for Hattie M. Lee, 92, of Greenville and formerly of Leland will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. John MB Church, Leland. She died Nov. 25, 2004, at The King's Daughters Hospital, Greenville. Burial will in Delta Memorial Gardens, Greenville, under the direction of Dillon Funeral Home, Leland.
Hattie was preceded in death by her husband, H.P. Lee; two daughters, Annie B. Lee and Mary Lee Thompson; five sons, Johnny, Henry P. Jr., Jessie Earl, James A. and Peter C.; one brother, Henry Spiller Sr; and one sister, Gracie Bell Gibson.
She leaves to cherish her memories and celebrate her life: two daughters, Bertha M. (Gil) Shorter and Sarah (Jerry) Harris, both of St. Louis, Mo; two sons, Willie Lee Sr. of Muskegon, Mich., and Isaiah (Margaret) Lee of Greenville; one "special son," the Rev. Jessie (Mary) Smith of Greenwood; one brother, Jessie (Alice) Bruce Sr. of Greenville; two sisters, Bessie Peoples and Marie Shorter, both of Greenville; one sister-in-law, Mary Spiller of Greenville; three daughters-in-law, Queen Ethel (Peter C.) Lee and Verda Lee, both of Greenville, and Mary Lee of Ypsilanti, Mich; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives.
Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 5 p.m. at Dillon Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 6 p.m.
The Rev. James C. Dennis will officiate.

Obtiuary - Bessie Mae Spiller Brackett (Delta Democrat-Times - December 11, 2004), Preceded daughter in death. GREENVILLE - Funeral services for Bessie Mae Spiller Brackett, 67, of Greenville will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at Bethlehem MB Church, Greenville. She died Dec. 5, 2004, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Burial will be in Delta Memorial Garden, Greenville, under the direction of Byas Funeral Home, Greenville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Brackett; her father, Henry Spiller Sr; a brother, Willie E. Spiller; and a devoted son, John F. Brackett.
She leaves to cherish her memory and celebrate her life: three daughters, Ruth (the Rev. Lewis) Thomas, Sandra (Zachary) Scott and Tammie Brackett all of Greenville; eight sons, Willie Brackett Jr. of Atlanta, Ga., and Henry (Betty) Brackett, J.B. (Arlease) Brackett, Willie Brackett, Ernest Brackett, Larry (Doretha) Brackett, Marshall Brackett and Markeist Brackett, all of Greenville; three godsons, John (Angela) Alexander, Anton Pennington and David Alexander all of Greenville; her loving mother, Mary L. Spiller of Greenville; one sister, Virginia Wheeler of Greenville; two brothers, Henry (Ruth) Spiller of Greenville and James (Bobbie) Spiller of Grand Prairie, Texas; seven aunts, Marie Shorter and Bessie People, both of Greenville, and Jerlean Hill, Martha Crystain, Louella Johnson, Ollie Ruth Hill and Dorothy Jenkins, all of Hermanville; three uncles, Jessie (Alice) Bruce and Gill (Bertha) Shorter of Greenville, and Matthew (Candice) Shorter of Hermanville; 27 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; five grandchildren she raised, Beatrice Butler, James Brackett, Sharnell Hardison, Ernest Brackett and Bryan Hardison; three sisters-in-law, Nora Spiller of Greenville, Lilly Brown of Waukegan, Ill., and Louella Brackett of Tuscaloosa, Ala; one brother-in-law, Earnest Brackett of Greenville; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. at Byas Funeral Home chapel, Greenville. Pastor Robert E. Young will officiate.
